Parks and Gardens in Rourkela

Rourkela has several parks and gardens that are visited by people in large numbers. There is lot of greenery in and around the city. Indira Gandhi Park in Rourkela

The IG Park is one of the biggest and favorite hang-around places in Rourkela. It is maintained by the Steel Authority of India Limited. It is spread on an area of more than 50 acres and has a lot of offer for pleasant moments. A list of attractions in the park is as under:

• A small artificial lake in the park where boating can be enjoyed. There is lots of greenery inside the park that showcases a variety of plants.
• A toy train, riding on which you can view about half of the park.
• A big fish aquarium
• A musical water fountain

Visiting Hours: 8.00 Am to 7.00 Pm (The park remains closed on Mondays and other holidays)

ISPAT Park in Rourkela

This is another park developed by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) which is open for public on all 7 days of a week. The park was established in the year 2000 and is maintained by SAIL. The main attraction of the park is a wheel structure that resembles the Ashok Chakra of Konark. Another attraction includes toy cars.

Jubilee Park in Rourkela

Also known as Deep Park, the Jubilee Park was constructed on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee commemoration of Steel Authority of India Limited. The park is known for the deers of Indian breed. A musical fountain is also there which adds to the beauty of the park.

Sanjivani Park in Rourkela

Sanjivani Park is another beautiful park of Rourkela which is maintained by the Civil-Township Residents Association of Rourkela.
